Emory Faculty and Guest Artist Dance Concert
Emory Dance Program faculty member George Staib teams up with bold, dynamic and witty choreographer Jennifer Wood to present an evening of
contemporary dance. Wood’s company, Suchu Dance, from Houston, Texas has long been recognized for their adventurous spirit, engaging technicality and satirical focus. Together, Staib and Suchu will present new dances that will not only please the intellect, but tickle the senses with Wood’s imaginative themes and Staib’s growing interest in electronic music as a foundation for new work. This concert features Atlanta area professionals, as well as Suchu’s Georgia debut. This concert is funded in part by a grant from the Emory University Research Committee.

"Signs of Reappropriation" will feature a site-specific installation of Attia's 2007 "Untitled (Skyline)"
series, which consists of 80 discarded refrigerators painted black and covered in tiny, geometric mirror "windows." Also, Attia will exhibit a newly commissioned body of photographs that he will print and install during a brief residency at SCAD-Atlanta.

self-education, etc. The workshop will consist of a poetry activity, discussion, question and answer session, and an opportunity for participants to create their own poem. The poet will explain more about the art form and business of spoken word as well as take any questions from the audience.

The Working Artist Project is an initiative of MOCA GA funded by the Charles Loridans Foundation to
support established working artists in metropolitan Atlanta. Genesis Trial: Johannesburg is the solo exhibition that presents work made over the period of the grant. Roney is a multi-media artist whose installation will include video projections and computer generated imagery.

| Opening Reception for "Photographs from the MOCA GA Core Collection" • Oct 4 The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia -- MOCA GA @ MOCA GA Expansion Gallery, 75 Bennett Street, Atlanta In honor of Atlanta Celebrates Photography month, MOCA GA will present photographs from the permanent collection which were included in the initial donation to start the Museum. Each photograph exhibited was
purchased by CGR Advisors for their corporate offices, before this collection was transferred to MOCA GA in 2001. The exhibition will feature over thirty works by important Georgia photographers including Lucinda Bunnen, Jim Frazer, Paul Kwilecki and others.
